Preparation

Before you start

You only need to complete the full setup once. Have these four items ready before opening WordPress.

WPWordPress access

Administrator access to WordPress 6.0 or later, running PHP 7.4 or later.

ZIPThe WPBlogAI plugin ZIP

Leave the downloaded file zipped. WordPress uploads the ZIP itself.

AIAn OpenAI API account

The API account needs active billing for content and image generation.

KEYAn OpenAI API key

Create the private key shortly before entering it in WPBlogAI.

Back up before changing plugins

Take a current WordPress backup. If an older WPBlogAI or NSP Auto Blogger version is active, deactivate it before activating the new version.

This chapter is complete when…

You can sign into WordPress as an administrator and have the plugin ZIP ready.

02

WordPress

Upload and install WPBlogAI

1

Open your website’s WordPress administration area and sign in with an administrator account.

2

Open the uploader

Choose Plugins → Add Plugin from the left menu, then select Upload Plugin at the top.

3

Choose the ZIP

Select Choose File, find the WPBlogAI ZIP on your computer and leave it zipped.

4

Install

Select Install Now and wait for WordPress to confirm that installation is complete.

5

Activate

Select Activate Plugin. WPBlogAI will now appear in the WordPress administration menu.

Updating an existing installation

Upload the new ZIP using the same route. When WordPress says the plugin already exists, review the comparison and choose Replace current with uploaded. Do not run the older and newer versions together.

This chapter is complete when…

WPBlogAI appears in the left-hand WordPress menu.

03

OpenAI setup

Create the account that powers the writing

WPBlogAI organises the work inside WordPress. OpenAI supplies the AI used to research, write and create images. A private API key connects the two.

01

Your WPBlogAI plugin

Runs the guided blogging workflow inside your own WordPress website.

02

Your OpenAI API account

Pays OpenAI directly for the AI work used to create content.

03

Your OpenAI API key

A private connection code that lets WPBlogAI request that work.

?
WHY DO I NEED THIS?

Think of the API key as a secure working pass.

Your own key connects your website to your OpenAI API account, keeps usage visible to you and means AI charges are paid directly without a WPBlogAI markup.

1

CREATE OR SIGN IN

Open the OpenAI Platform

  1. Use the official link below.
  2. Create an account or sign in with an existing OpenAI login.
  3. Complete the account checks until the Platform dashboard opens.
Open official OpenAI sign-up →

A paid ChatGPT subscription is not the same as API billing. ChatGPT Plus is not required for WPBlogAI.

2

ENABLE API BILLING

Add payment details or credits

  1. While signed in, open the official Billing page.
  2. Add a payment method or purchase API credits using the displayed options.
  3. Set a sensible budget or usage limit if shown.
Open OpenAI Billing →

OpenAI API usage is a separate cost from the WPBlogAI licence.

3

CREATE THE KEY

Make a private API key

  1. Open the official API Keys page.
  2. Select Create new secret key.
  3. Name it clearly, for example WPBlogAI – My Website.
  4. Create and copy it immediately. The complete key may not be shown again.
Open OpenAI API Keys →
Treat the API key like a password

Never email it, put it in a screenshot or paste it into a support message. If it is exposed, delete it on the OpenAI API Keys page and create a replacement.

This chapter is complete when…

You are signed in to the OpenAI Platform, API billing is active and the new key is copied ready to paste.

04

Connect

Save the OpenAI API key in WPBlogAI

Return to WordPress and choose WPBlogAI from the left menu. The connection panel appears above the five-step workflow.

1

Open the connection panel

Choose WPBlogAI in WordPress and find the panel headed OpenAI API Key.

2

Paste the OpenAI API key

Paste the complete new key into Paste new API key and select Save / Replace Key.

3

Confirm the connection

WPBlogAI should report that the key was updated. The active key is then shown only in a safely masked form.

Never send the key to support

WPBlogAI support may ask whether a key is saved, but will never ask to see the complete private key.

This chapter is complete when…

WPBlogAI confirms that the OpenAI key is saved and the AI connection status reads Connected.

05

Learn brand

Teach WPBlogAI how your business should sound

Enter the correct website and select Deep learn brand (auto-apply). Keep the progress window open until the replacement Brand Profile is saved.

01

Basic company details

Check the company name, website, public contact details, social links and the WordPress author for generated posts.

02

Offer and locations

Review what you do, services, products, locations and areas served. Correct anything outdated or missing.

03

Market position

Review the research summary, positioning, advantages and evidence-based brand story.

04

Audience

Check the description of the people and organisations most likely to buy from the business.

05

Content guidance

Set optional preferences covering guidance, questions, comparisons, risks and expert insight.

06

Wording and safeguards

Review preferred language, wording to avoid, unconfirmed claims and rules every article must follow.

Strong guidance

“Helpful, practical and confident. Explain specialist terms simply. Never claim we are the cheapest.”

× Weak guidance

“Make us sound good and write brilliant SEO blogs.”

Save every manual change

Unsaved edits are not used by keyword, campaign or article generation.

06

Keyword ideas

Give the campaign a useful starting point

The keyword assistant can work entirely from the Brand Profile or use seed phrases when you want more control.

DISCOVERY

Choose how to discover keywords

Use the Brand Profile for the easiest route, combine your phrases into one balanced list, or research each phrase separately.

SEED PHRASES

Guide the research when needed

Enter one product, service, topic or customer problem per line—maximum 10. Use short subjects, not complete article titles.

RESULT FOCUS

Choose the required results

Set the result count, target area, locations and keyword type: mixed, short-tail or long-tail.

OPTIONAL

Advanced SEO and live volume

Optional controls cover minimum searches, competition and existing-content checks. DataForSEO can add live volume; otherwise WPBlogAI uses estimates.

Review the saved table

Remove anything unsuitable and save manual edits. Campaign generation uses the approved keyword wording.

07

Set CTA

Choose what readers should do next

The call to action is set before the campaign so every article has an approved destination.

NONE

No call to action

Use when articles should end without a CTA block.

FIXED

Use my wording

Enter the approved headline, message, button text and destination.

ADAPTIVE

AI-generated wording

WPBlogAI adapts the message while keeping the saved link unchanged.

Always test the button link

Open the destination separately and copy its correct URL before saving the CTA.

08

Build campaign

Review the plan before anything is written

Save the campaign length, frequency, times, word count, images, category, purpose and tone. WPBlogAI maps existing content before showing the campaign draft.

Title

The proposed reader-facing title.

Description

What the article will cover.

Keyword

The main search subject.

Intent

What the reader is trying to do.

Purpose

Why the article matters to the business.

Word and image counts

The planned scale and imagery.

1

Read every proposal

Confirm it is accurate, relevant and meaningfully different from existing content.

2

Choose the right ideas

Tick the articles you want and leave unsuitable ideas unselected.

3

Approve the campaign

WPBlogAI only creates from topics allowed into the working campaign.

A familiar keyword is not automatically a duplicate

The same broad subject is acceptable when the new article serves a genuinely different question, decision, audience or context.

09

Create blogs

Choose one of three creation routes

Open Create blogs after approving the campaign and confirm the correct titles and keywords are in the Article Queue.

OPTION A

Create now

Create one or two immediate WordPress drafts.

Best for the first test
OPTION B

Schedule drafts

Create drafts automatically at the saved campaign dates.

Best for review before publication
OPTION C

Auto-publish

Create and publish approved articles automatically.

Best after the first outputs are checked
YOUR FIRST RESULT

Open and check the article in WordPress

For the first run, create one draft. When WPBlogAI confirms completion:

  1. 1
    Open WordPress Posts

    Choose Posts → All Posts.

  2. 2
    Find the new title

It should appear as a draft under the saved author.

  3. 3
    Select Preview

Check facts, images, headings, links and CTA.

  4. 4
    Choose what happens next

Publish it, amend it or schedule the rest of the campaign.

You have completed the full journey—from plugin ZIP to finished article.
10

Blog Queue

See what is waiting, working and complete

Open Blog Queue whenever you want to check campaign progress.

StatusMeaningWhat to do
QueuedWaiting for its turn.Nothing, unless the schedule needs changing.
ProcessingThe reported generation stage is active.Allow it to finish; overlapping jobs are blocked.
PostedThe item completed and reached WordPress.Open the post if you want to review it.
FailureA stage could not complete after retries.Copy the visible reason before contacting support.
Built-in recovery

Temporary failures are retried and completed stages are remembered so a job can resume without recreating finished work.

11

Control level

Choose how hands-off you want to be

DRAFT

Save for review

WPBlogAI prepares the article but leaves publication to you.

SCHEDULE

Publish later

Approved posts follow the saved campaign timing.

AUTO

Publish automatically

Use after the brand, campaign and first output have been checked.

The campaign is the permission boundary

WPBlogAI does not invent and publish a new campaign without approval. Automatic publication applies to subjects and settings you deliberately approved.

12

Finished output

What WPBlogAI prepares for each article

Natural approved-keyword title

A complete reader-facing title using the saved subject naturally.

SEO details

Focus phrase, SEO title, meta description and WordPress slug.

Reading experience

Reading time, headings and a generated contents table where appropriate.

Word-count control

The chosen article length treated as a practical content target.

Images

Featured and optional inline images with useful metadata.

Internal journeys

Links to relevant articles, products, categories and important pages.

Call to action

A relevant next step using the approved destination.

Careful outbound sources

Only directly useful, working and non-competing sources.

Quality safeguards

Checks for repetition, unsupported claims and content structure.

WordPress delivery

Saved, scheduled or published according to the selected mode.

13

Ongoing use

Keep the content focused over time

  • Monthly

Review the Blog Queue and a sample of completed posts.

  • When the business changes

Update Learn brand when services, products, locations, audience or important pages change.

  • Before a campaign

Refresh priorities and confirm the CTA destination is still correct.

  • After an update

Confirm the API connection, then check the first scheduled item.

  • Before full autopilot

Create and review at least one article from the current brand profile and campaign.

14

Help

Troubleshooting common issues

“Key required” is showing+

Open the OpenAI API Key panel above the five-step workflow, paste a current private key and select Save / Replace Key. Confirm that API billing is active if generation still cannot begin.

AI generation will not start+

Confirm the API key is saved and the OpenAI API account has active billing. ChatGPT subscriptions and API billing are separate.

The API key is not working+

Create a replacement on the OpenAI API Keys page, copy it immediately and use Save / Replace Key. Never send it to support.

Keyword ideas are too broad+

Use more specific seed phrases and refine the keyword type, phrase length, service, customer problem or genuine location.

A scheduled item has failed+

Open Blog Queue and read the current stage and failure reason. Allow automatic retries to finish before contacting support.

A post has no outbound link+

This can be intentional. WPBlogAI omits outbound links when no suitable, working and non-competing source qualifies.

WordPress found an existing plugin+

Review the comparison and choose Replace current with uploaded after confirming that a current website backup exists.
